pfclean?是一款快速强大的破损影像自动修复软件，用于vfc和di流程的前期处理。pfclean 的构造支持quicktime的输入和输出，quicktime格式的用户现在可以直接在pfclean打开这一格式，并用里面的相关附件。这一功能正在被广泛的用于电影及游戏产业里。

中国电影资料馆在对《黄土地》和《盗马贼》两部电影原始素材修复中也使用到了该软件。老电影修复是一件十分繁琐和耗时的工作，需要诸多技术相辅完成，故并非某一个软件或硬件能够完成这项工作。

主要功能:

auto dirt & dust

arguably the best in the industry, and the tools which set the standards that our competitors follow. can be used either in conjunction with a scannergenerated defect map, or by analysing the image using advanced dirt detection algorithms. fast, accurate and reliable time and time again.

fix tear

an effect specifically designed to repair physical celluloid tears of any size in a single frame or across multiple frames. the fix tear effect will not only replace the damage, but using our infamous tracking technologies, will automatically align the undamaged portions back into position to compensate for any displacement that has occurred.

colour balance

providing an automated pregrade colour balance to restore dye fades and age related colour issues back to original tones. can produce stable results across entire clips, even from clip to clip.

auto de-spot

highly optimised and fast automatic despotting tool that requires no preprocessing.

de-grain

pfclean’s grain and noise management tools are second-to-none. grain can be profiled and stored for later use on shots from the same reel. these profiles can then be used for grain reduction, removal or for regraining entire shots, or to seamlessly blend a pixel level repair with the surrounding shot.

blocking reduction

useful for removing or softening compression artefacts associated with video and data compression.

clean lens dirt

developed for removing dirt captured between the lens and the image plane. famous examples are ‘hair in the gate’ and ‘lens mould’, but other in camera artefacts such as sensor dirt can also be remedied.

de-fog

designed for use with footage damaged by x-rays or poor storage, this tool can automatically detect and fix low to moderate amounts of fogging.

fix frame

fix frame uses our motion analysis and retiming

technology to repair large areas of damage in a single frame, or over several frames. can be used to generate an entirely new frame if damage is severe.

lens undistort

the powerful distortion model used in pfclean can be used to correct for both low and highorder radial lens distortion, and can even be animated if necessary. it is also possible for pfclean to estimate the parameters by automatically detecting straight edges in an image.

channel align

this automated effect can be used to realign the different channels from tristrip (eg. technicolor process) footage, or any footage where a mis-alignment has occurred, for example chromatic aberration caused by the lens.

rig removal

this tool will automatically paint out a rig or wires. all the user has to do is draw a rough mask around the rig, and pfclean will detect and replace the wires. can be used with a clean plate, if one is available.

paint

some say the paint tools in pfclean provide more functionality in one effect than many comparable effects systems have in their entire toolset. our floating point paint tools make use of tracking or motion estimation algorithms, and are specifically designed to exist in multiple frames. tightly integrated with grain management tools, it’s possible to quickly and seamlessly touch up frames or entire image sequences. typical paint brush effects are clone, clean, paint, erode, repair, colorize and many more.
